Dr. Hewitt received his joint MD, MBA degrees from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the Wake Forest Babcock graduate school of management in Winston-Salem, NC. He completed his General Surgery Internship at Wake Forest NC Baptist Medical Center and completed his Residency in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science in Los Angeles, CA, where he served as Chief Resident. Prior to joining ENT of Georgia in January 2006, Dr. Hewitt served as the director of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in San Bernardino California. In addition, Dr. Hewitt received his DDS degree from Case Western Reserve University, School of Dentistry and completed a residency and served as chief resident in the department of dentistry at the Metro Health Medical center in Cleveland, OH.

Dr. Hewitt is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, the Caribbean Association of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and the National Medical Association.
Dr. Hewitt practices both pediatric and adult general Otolaryngology with a specialized interest in sleep surgery, sinus surgery, and surgery for chronic otitis media and mastoiditis. He utilizes the coblator plasma knife to reduce post operative tonsillectomy pain and recovery times, the STEALTH CT navigation system for improved safety and accuracy in sinus surgery, and the NIM cranial nerve monitor to improve safety and decrease surgical times during thyroid, parathyroid, and parotid surgery.
