Also known as, “Dr. Whitley’s Right-Hand Woman” around the office, Mary Frances is a Board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. A Georgia native, Mary Frances went to the University of Georgia, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude as a double major with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During her time in Athens, she interned at a health clinic to explore her interests in the medical field and felt instantly driven to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse practitioner due to the unique approach to medicine with an emphasis on caring for patients wholistically. Mary Frances obtained both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on pediatric medicine from Emory University, where she graduated with a 4.0 and high honors. At Emory, she served as class president and was awarded the Silver Bowl Award by the faculty, which is the most honorable achievement recognizing “Overall Excellence in Nursing.”
Upon graduating, Mary Frances began her career in Pediatric ENT, where she was personally trained by several pediatric otolaryngologists, including Dr. Whitley. She and Dr. Whitley developed a natural partnership, as they share a fundamental philosophy in providing family-centered pediatric ENT care with an emphasis on being conservative and preventative, all while maintaining a good sense of humor and fostering a positive environment to promote overall well-being. When further intervention is necessary, Mary Frances thoroughly enjoys guiding families through that process with a knowledgeable and empathetic viewpoint.
Outside the office, Mary Frances is married to her high school sweetheart, Stephen, and they have a toddler son and two mini Cavapoos. Together, they enjoy traveling and exploring, watching sports and having game nights with family and friends and renovating our home. Mary Frances looks forward to caring for your precious kiddos and being a part of your family’s journey to ENT health.
